scary or funni?!?!?!
This is a *TRUE *story of a young college girl who passed away last month in Singapore. Her name is Priya.
She was hit by a lorry. She had a boy friend named Shankar. Both of them were true lovers.
They always used to hang on the phone. You could never ever see her without her handphone.
She spent 3/4 of the day talking to Shankar. Priya's family knew about their relationship.
Shankar was very close with Priya's family too. Before she passed away she always told her
frens "If I pass away, please cremate me with my handphone." She also said the same to her
parents.
After her death, people couldn't carry her coffin. I was there too. A lot of them tried to do so
but nobody could. They sought the help of their neighbor who was a Thai 'bomoh' (pak Darin)
who after chanting for a while asserted that the girl misses something badly. Only then her frens
remembered and told the bomoh that she wanted to have her mobile phone burnt along with her.
He then opened the coffin and placed her phone and SIM card inside the casket. After that, they
could carry the coffin so easily and the whole lot of us who witnessed this were really shocked!
Priya's lifeless body was carried into the van and sent off to the Mandai crematorium.
Priya's parents didn't inform Shankar that Priya had passed away. (pity Shankar). After 2 weeks,
Shankar, called Priya's mom. "Atte, I'm coming home today, cook something nice for me. Don't tell
Priya that I'm visiting you today. I wanna surprise her." Her mother replied....." You come home
first, I wanna tell you something very important." When he came over, they told him the truth about
Priya.
Shankar thought that they had gone crazy and were playing the fool. He was laughing and said, "Don't
try to fool me; tell Priya to come out. I have a gift for her and please stop this nonsense." Then they
showed him the original death certificate. They gave him proof to make him believe. (Shankar started to sweat)
He said... "it can't be true. We just spoke to each other yesterday. She still calls me all the time.
Shankar was shaking and suddenly his phone rang. "See, he said, this is from Priya, see this..."
He showed the phone to Priya's family and they told him to speak to her using the loudspeaker
mode as all of them could hear their conversation.
Loud and clear, no cross lines, no humming and they heard their darling Priya's voice and there was
no way others could use her sim card since it was nailed inside the coffin. They were all so shocked and
asked for pak Darin's help again. Pak Darin brought his master (Tok Chen) to solve this matter. They
worked for 5 hours and finally they discovered one thing.....

BEIJING, China (Reuters) -- Hundreds of chickens have been found dead in east China -- and a court has ruled that the cause of death was the screaming of a four-year-old boy who in turn had been scared by a barking dog, state media reported on Wednesday. The bizarre sequence events began when the boy arrived at a village home in the eastern province of Jiangsu in the summer with his father who was delivering bottles of gas, the Nanjing Morning Post reported.A villager was quoted as saying the little boy bent over the henhouse window, screaming for a long time, after being scared by the dog."One neighbor told police that he had heard the boy's crying that afternoon and another villager confirmed the boy screaming by the henhouse window," the newspaper said.A court ruled the boy's screaming was "the only unexpected abnormal sound" and that 443 chickens trampled each other to death in fear. The boy's father was ordered to pay 1,800 yuan ($230) in compensation to the owner of the chickens.

Stop criminalising the young over Wi-Fi 'theft'
I HAVE been watching with growing concern the prosecution of individuals for Wi-Fi theft. The premise of such a prosecution shows a lack of understanding of the underlying technology and the regulatory framework under which it was launched.
Wi-Fi is a standard for data transmission over unlicensed radio spectrum. The rules governing this usage were set in the United States by the Federal Communications Commission. As the protocol and equipment gained popularity, demand forced other governments to allow the same usage.
The key here is that the radio spectrum being used is unlicensed. Like citizens' band radio in the 1970s and 80s, anyone is allowed to transmit and receive on this spectrum. There are no guarantees of privacy or private property.
Once Wi-Fi became widely available, people quickly realised that their data was at risk if they transmitted without some sort of encryption. Equipment manufacturers, not governments, responded by offering, first, Wireless Equivalency Privacy (WEP), then stronger forms of encryption when WEP was shown to be hackable.
Wi-Fi transmitters are designed to broadcast their availability, and Wi-Fi receivers, to search for all available networks. Any laptop will automatically list all available networks that can be 'seen'. In my flat, I can see at least 12 networks, at least half of which are not encrypted.
One analogy proposed tries to equate Wi-Fi mooching with physical entry into someone's house: 'Just because I leave my door unlocked, does not mean you are free to enter.' This analogy is inappropriate. Wi-Fi is designed to send a welcome message to anyone operating with Wi-Fi-compliant hardware.
The proper analogy is 'You are welcome to come into my house unless the door is locked'. Silence, or inaction, on the part of the network owner is consent.
The real culprit in this sad state of affairs is the person who attaches a Wi-Fi transmitter to his home wired network, and knowingly fails to turn on basic encryption. Such individuals are breaking the terms of their agreements with the Internet service providers which prevent further distribution or access by individuals other than the subscriber.
It is time we stop ruining the lives of children by giving them inappropriate criminal records, and start going after the real problem, those who are too lazy to use equipment properly.

Saw this piece on the Straits Time interactive forum.... quite interesting... arguing about whether izzit wrong to tap into an open Wi-Fi network to use or not...
some argue tat door is not locked dosen't mean u can come in...
then some say the transmitters is broadcasting the availability of ur network so it is ur responsibility to set up a security measure to prevent others to tap onto ur network easily...
i personally agree with the 2nd opinion lahz... it is the responisibility of the 'owner' of the network to setup a security measure to prevent others from using.... ignorant cannot be an excuse... there are manuals tat come with their wireless devices which will teach them about the security measures.... and u cannot compare this directly with 'door not locked dosen't mean u can enter my house' logic.... coz now is ur transmitter broadcasting tat u have a network so it is ur responsibility to secure it... so wat do u all tink??
